And if ex-OH isn't back by 5, take both boys to their respective homes for their tea/dinner. Don't let him think you'll wait for him to get home at his own convenience.

All very supportive - as ever, thanks so much. Haven't made the mess in the kitchen or made any "Laburnam Pies" , tempting as all those ideas were. Have managed to watch the 1st episode of GBBO on his network though and tried to relax, so all in all not too bad. Not going to happen again though, I will make it very clear. Now for an evening at the cinema (in French) with four 9 year old boys - oh, I do live it up.
Thanks again though all, such kind and supportive words, you all do so much to boost my confidence when it gets so many knocks here.

You have been really brave and strong. Your restraint will help Charlie to cope with the new situation and, in the long run, show him how civilised people deal with testing situations.
Hi DD, glad you and Charlie have found a lovely new home. Agree with all the good advice from everyone. Take care of yourself, good luck and best wishes for your new future plans. Big hugs xx
I have a cousin whose ex used to play games. He would never have the money for child maintenance, but always have money to spoil the kids with presents, games, clothes, that their mother could not afford. She was working full time to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. It only got sorted when the courts put an attachment on his earnings. Then he turned really nasty and started badmouthing her to the kids. Kids are cleverer than you think. They now have no contact with their father as adults, but lots with their mother.
