So sorry DD. Like some of the others, I'm not totally surprised, but making the decision is the first step, and you WILL get there. If I can do it , anyone can. Controlling behaviour is impossible to live with.

I hope you can continue to be a part of the forum - I know how brilliant these wonderful people here are.

Loads of support for you here, and hope Charlie is ok. Love to you both xx

Hello all you lovely kind people, you have me close to tears again. Listening to and reading lots of advice & information and am confident that the future will be better - eventually, long hard road ahead I fear but will be worth it in the end for us all, especially Charlie who although has been protected from a lot is not stupid. Hopefully, we can deal with this in a way that suits Charlie's needs the most and ensure he feels safe & loved by us both and doesn't end up feeling confused or responsible in any way. Unfortunately, at the moment.OH seems to think I will come to my senses by Monday. Very tired now but very grateful for all the supportive comments by old and new members, it really does mean a lot and is also very telling that so many sensed the problem even on the forum. Good night all.

Good Morning DD. I hope you got a decent sleep. I have a feeling there may be a sense of calm for you now.

DD You are an amazing woman and I'm sure you will get through this and good luck to you, massive decision but the right one I'm sure.  Lots of love and luck x

I'd echo what LP and BM have said. There will be difficulties, but ultimately, the realisation that it's the right decision comes through, and then things start to improve surprisingly quickly. xx

DD, so sorry to read your troubles - only just found this thread again.  Such a lot of good advice on here.  Love and best wishes to you and Charlie.  xx

DD, so sorry, have only just found this thread again too.

So very sorry to hear your news, but like others not really surprised. Huge decision to make but I sure too the right one. As others have said don't jump too soon and take legal advice. Maybe you can stay in your home with Charlie. Your OH won't want to run a B&B!

Take care of yourself now DD, we are all here for you. Good idea of fidgets to change your name on here.

Very best wishes to you and Charlie. Big hugs xxx

HI DD - as people have said, property laws and rights between married people and their offspring are very different in France so no hasty moves please.  Some basic info here to start you off - http://www.connexionfrance.com/getting-divorced-france-divorce-legal-proceedings-10932-news-article.html

Stay strong for Charlie and come and holler and yell on here when you need to - use another name if necessary.
