  • Thanks for the replys.. It's extremely frustrating as the lawn was nice and coming on well and now looks totally destroyed.

I can confirm my WIFE applied by hand lol.

It's been 1 week tomorrow. I have read I should leave it 2 weeks before raking?

I have been watering it every day to try and blast away.

How long shall I leave it before planting new seeds? Thanks

As already said, you need to wait a month or so before re-seeding. You also need to ensure the seed is kept moist at all times - the occasional rain shower isn't enough.

Grass seed does best when sown in April or September when moisture levels and temperatures are usually at their most favourable for good germination.

I see you have some football fans in the family James. How long to go before the school holidays start? Seeding in the summer is a lot of hard work, and you'd have to stay off it for a few weeks.
I'd let them play and seed it in the Autumn.

4 in 1 isn't great to be honest. Lawn issues should be treated on their own for really complete and thorough professional results. Granular products should always be applied with a spreader, not by hand.

James, the lawn isn't totally ruined. It WILL come back, just take a wee while to do so. Wait for the weather to get a bit wetter and seed areas that need it after a good raking out.

I think the 4 in 1 is great! Our lawns are thick green and lush, ok a few weeds will appear later in the summer but for now, brilliant.

    It's a very short-lived feed too.

  • I have a flowering cherry tree fully grown. It was   pruned last year by a professional. It flowered this year but now it has many shrivelled brown leaves. How do I detect the possibility of a disease before I lose this beautiful tree. Sadly I don't know much about trees. Any advice will be much appreciated.

You need to start a separate thread with an appropriate title  @elainenunezcarter. This is about grass food so you won't get suitable replies.  :)
Photos of the problem will also help.
It's likely to be drought and/or sun and wind damage though, assuming the pruning was done at the correct time of year.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

@elainenunezcarter Welcome. I think your post might get lost here. If you can start a new thread under plants and if you are able to post a photo you should get some help. Don't worry if the photo is upside down there is a fault on the forum. Cherry trees can suffer from various problems. Many plants have been stressed by the weather. I will look for your reply. Thank you.
