  • Hi Everyone  All your e mails and tips are very reassuring ! Convinced my husband we needed to treat our so called lawn (clover and moss patch )  Used Evergreen 4 in 1 Killed the moss ! but not the clover  we have black patches but hopefully the grass will return What a game ! and now I am in the dog house for ruining his so called lawn!!!!!!!!!

My new lawn professionally laid in 2013 was fine until i decided in 2015 to refresh it with 4 in 1 using a newly purchased spreader.  I guess  i had the machine holes set too big because where the spreader poised to turn at each end of the lawn i got the grey patches as previously described!

No amount of watering. feeding and re-seeding (twice) even digging a hole prior just have not worked and i still have the patches two years later!

To make sure of not making the mistake again last years i just dropped some 4 in 1 mixed with dry sand through a kitchen sieve from  a height over just a few patches in the middle of the lawn which had begun to spout moss and guess what - i now have eight grey patches there too.

I just don't seem  to be able to remedy this and i'm almost tempted to have the whole lawn re-turfed!

  • Same thing happened to me each turn of spreader has turned grass black. Luckily its at ends but an eyesore all the same

You are supposed to measure the amount used. That is the problem. Take the time to read the instructions.

I weigh out the amount of 4 in 1 needed for an area 1m x 1m and put it in plastic cup and mark the level.

Then I measure the lawn and lay canes along the edge at 1m intervals.

Then I use the marked cup to scatter the appropriate amount evenly on each square metre ... not terribly complicated.

  • I wish I read these reviews about Evergreen 4 in 1 before I made the massive mistake of using it. It has ruined my front lawn which was actually perfectly grown and green. It didn't really need this product but like a fool I wanted it to be greener. I would not recommend this product to anyone as it causes more harm than good. I'm jus hoping and praying it grows back quick ?

It is a good product if only people would read the instructions first and carry them out to the letter. It only gives problems if people don't do that and so overdose.

I have to say I really like ever green 4 in 1. It actually is the only product I buy for my lawn.

The suggestions I would say are:

    1. Do not over dose

    2. Do it in a rainy day

    3. Do not have visitors who might judge your lawn in the next 2 weeks. image

Sound advice PageZ  ... and No. 3 is equally as important as the first two image
