    @Dovefromabove,

    "Naked Boys"? what are they?

    See original post

     Colloquial term for colchicums. They're sometimes called Naked Ladies too, but I prefer Naked Boys image

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Thanks for your reply, Dove. Interesting article about colchicums here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gardening/3323786/How-to-grow-colchicum.html

  • Thanks Fairygirl, as you can see, I am a bit of a freak for petunias.

    imageimageimageimageimageimageimageJust had a lovely time catching up here. We were away, then a tree fell on the phone line so I was without Internet or phone for the second half of September so I've let this thread slip and haven't posted any photos from September.

    Michaelmas daisies are out, and dahlias. Here are some photos from the end of September, but the garden isn't very tidy, especially from the wind in the storm that blew the tree down. The lawns suffered a lot in the drought this summer.

    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Michaelmas daises give a lovely late burst of colour BL.   I planted a few more this year but a rabbit had six inches off the tops of two plants.
