Almost Joyce.  I am deadheading religiously to keep the blooms coming and getting drunk on the scents that greet me in this humid weather!   I am not alone as there are white and purple buddleias in full bloom out there so there are butterflies everywhere!

I have two blue and one purple (with variegated leaves) buddleias and love  seeing the butterflies. Not today though as it's drizzling.

Another fine day and no rain forecast for next five days so I will have to be watering again.  I deadheaded at 7 and noticed quite a few dead leaves had fallen among my pots from next door's lime tree so I told it it was not autumn yet.  hard to get angry with it though as i do have lovely leaf mould from it.

Cloudier this morning and forecast for high of 19 degrees and chance of a shower about lunchtime.  I do not think I can rely on natural watering so will water the pots this morning anyway.  Feels fresher so will not be so arduous as yesterday.

Good morning Marion, lovely pictures, how did the judging day go?, I'm afraid I missed that thread.

the weather is dry and warm here, I had to give the garden a good watering last night, the forecast here looks like lots of rain this week too, I cut the lawn yesterday, trimmed my sweet peas and cleared any weeds, so the rain can do what it wants now : )

The judges have not been yet Flumpy.  They put a card in the letterbox when they have.  There is no set date but i have noticed they do not come when it is raining if they can help it which is good.  As it is Bristol wide i expect how late in the month or even into next month they come depends on how many have entered and where they are.  Bristol is a very big city.

Awe well I'm keeping my fingers crossed Marion, I wonder if they have the same thing up here?, they would love my mum and dads garden too : )

The RHS runs Britain in Bloom all over the country, Flumpy.  I am sure your parents' city or county council have something that connects with it.  The local website or paper would have details.  The only rules in Bristol are that you do all the work yourself and the garden is clearly visible from the road. There are categories for different sizes of garden, age group, home or business like shop front or pub forecourt etc.
