Incidentally for those of you who garden on a very tight budget like i do those wicker planters I have been planting up with spring flowers I bought two winters ago in an end of autumn season sale . They were £5 each, lined with plastic, and came with 40 bulbs in four varieties each and enough bulb fibre to fill them. The bulbs grew perfectly and are now growing well in the borders especially the 20 hyacinthe i had called "Carnegie" which are white. Last summer I grew red geraniums in them and after the spring show is over I will do the same this year. The planters are still in good condition. A really good buy so look out for end of season bargains online.
Hi Marion, sorry if I'm quiet at the moment feeling a bit run down and under the weather, went back to work last week and two members had bad cold and one with chest and ear infection, so thanks to them coming in I am now coming down with something : (.
Your flowers are looking fabulous Marion : ) hope your enjoying the nice weather : )
Sorry to hear you are not well again flumpy. Perhaps you need to up your dark veg and fruit intake to boost your immune system. Anti- oxidants are the way to go and avoiding crowded places where bugs abound. Yes this weather is amazing - just right for getting plants out of pots and into the beds and borders.
Damp outside so it must have rained through the night but the sun is out for now and it feels quite warm. Four family visitors yesterday so have catching up to do now. I may have to make a list and try to get through it.
I am whacked after working all day but a dazen perennials have left their pots and all my onion sets are in the ground and the tulips are so lovely in the garden and containers, what does a little shortness of breath matter! It looks like we may have some rain now as the sky is darkening. I took some pictures earlier.

Especially good for introducing new plants to my rather limited palette.
So pleased Darren. Yes I am for great biodiversity in my half acre. There are no lawns as such although I do have some ornamental grasses!

Thanks Marion, it doesn't help working in a chemist I suppose or having a under active thyroid, I love veg and have got extra fruit too : ).
ho I also had a accident at work, drying a cup and the handle stapped and slit my thumb open
Oh my goodness that will put a stop to your gardening for a while. Tin mugs are safer! Hard lines flumpy.

The end of the road for my Xmas amaryllis.
