DD, I'm down at Mum and Dad's at the moment and wifi has been intermittent.  Reading about Shadow brought tears to my eyes and I'd like to help if I can.  Jo has offered Birmingham to Carlisle and I could do Carlisle to Dunblane.  Now if you can find Dover to Birmingham you're sortedimage.  ((Hugs)) and best wishes to you all - especially Charlie xx.

Sounds promising.  You'll need to make sure his paperwork is up to spec- chip, rabies and other jabs, worms, fleas and ticks in the week before he goes.   Took our pair through the Chunnel just the once and it's a performance.

  • Jo and Leslie, that sounds like a wonderful start to a plan, I have a friend in Kingston who is looking for help for us and a friend in Oxfordshire who might be able to do a leg too. I know it sounds dreadfully complicated and convoluted but if we can just get him there that would be marvellous. image

Obelixx, went to the vet this morning to sort out passport, they were very helpful.

Feel like I am on a rollercoaster today with this saga. Thanks for all the support. image

Haven't even read all this thread DD, and not a doggy person as I've said before - but glad to help with the dog transport convoy.

no idea how i managed to post this again.. sorry

You must be heart-broken - how very sad.

I know that PPBC (Protecting Pre-loved Border Collies) do on occasion shuttle dogs around. I know yours is not a BC, but they may be able to help or offer advice.

Or probably better, maybe worth having a word with Val from Valgrays (facebook) she works wonders and re-homes dogs from all over the place (inc Europe) with her countless contacts and friends.

Best of luck to you and Shadow xx

  • Just a quick but very tentative update - the lady in Dunblane - oh what a star she is - might just have found Shadow a home just 3 hours from me here in France and a British person too, not that I have anything against the French but I know from experience how we dote on our pets! image

I am also beside myself in amazement at the very many kind people who have been rallying to help me today, in all honesty a complete starnger to most. I have cried again all day but these last few hours have been with joy and overwhelming appreciation of the good in people. image

I can't thank you enough and was really worried about offending people by posting this thread - how wrong I was. image
