You don't have to be religious to be buried in a cemetery. You just have to die. Lots of films and especially detective series involve scenes in cemeteries but they don't work, and can offend, if badly done and not respectful.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Talk about over kill, the costumes were outlandish, the acting pure ham, the dancing barely existing. Head Judge was correct in saying she wanted some dancing as well as a so called performance, it was not my cup of tea when combined with music that was unrecognisable although the singers did their best as usual. OK rant over.
Debby deserved top spot, a well performed dance with proper content and steps, Susan makes me smile and not in a bad way Gemma puts her heart into it although she got some of it wrong. The dance off was a shock the right one went and I am with Obelixx those silly supposedly surprise episodes in the training period want scrapping. Definitely a show of two halves now, those who can and those who cannot.
I always record Strictly so I can whizz through most of it, gets on my nerves. I really do wish they would stop all that so called acting at the beginning of each dance. It's not necessary and most can't act....just wasting time. I was beginning to wonder if Simon was actually ever going to start dancing, he walked round and round the table so much. Len would have commented on them fannying around too much.
Star gaze Lily I say, such Language, Len would have said "Well pickle me walnuts, that was a longer walk than the Old Kent Road" saying which my language has been some what army at times.
Aston is a top runner because he is young and acrobatic what ever that has to do with Ballroom Dancing, I like Gemma but do not think she will survive the lifts she is a well made girl. Jonny has the determination and Mollie got a wake up call last night, some of the not quite there dancers will probably come to the fore as they progress, anyones guess.
Sorry but for us Debby being top is so false SHE WAS A PROFESSIONAL DANCER ok it may have been some years ago but it would be like waiting another 15 years & then letting Darcy take part as a contestant, its all wrong.
Here we go again, Debby was a dancer thirty years ago and then a Magicians helper. she was picked by the BBC to enter after doing a couple of different programmes that did not include dancing. The programmers pick and mix to add interest hence the question every year on the announcements "Who the H--- is that" it is what they want to happen, they get those watchers who want to see total failure or a comic act so do not blame Debby or Ruth or any one else taking part. If some one wishes to give you a big hand full of money you are not going to turn it down and that includes the Professional dancers too.
The BBC sees the whole thing as entertainment not a dance contest, they are interested only in numbers and beating XYZ factors on other channels. For those who actually wish to see a Dance competition it will never happen now so stop wishing do what I do hang up the dance pumps and watch it for what it is throwing the occasional cushion at the TV.
As to modern media Celebs (so called) every college in our area with a Media studies program teaches dancing, the local papers are full of pictures of those groups. Most Acting schools teach Dance and deportment as part of the tuition, lots of the kids we see on those programs today came up that way, many did street dancing when younger I rest my case.
My Grandchildren are all learning Ballroom Dancing, there is hope yet it will return, in the meanwhile we have to put up with young nubile kids who can fly spin and turn somersaults to music. Us golden oldies sit in our rocking chairs waiting for the end game hoping that it will all come back to normal before that happens.

We thought using a real Cemetery was in bad taste and we aren’t particularly religious

I'm hoping Aston wins.

I don't believe for one moment that it's been thirty years since Debbie did any dancing.
If she wins......i'll help you eat the glitterball RB.
Think she's supposed to be in Panto soon anyway ?
