No apologies from me, my ears are tuned to the old style conversations at a speed that could be understood not the insane babble that goes for Radio music shows and is tipping over onto TV now. Constant gobbledygook that never lets an old favourite tune  get from beginning to end without manic mouthing voice overs, Zoe is all of that and the constant mention of her Strictly with Ian who has to wear an armoured suit to keep her claws off him. At least I do understand Tess and Claudia a lot more than I can say about Zoe. The sound will stay off and I will read the news on the strictly section of the entertainment board, at my own pace in my own time. Totally annoying and very offputting, I want to hear what the guests say not a constant drivel. Please Karen trip Zoe behind the scenes and take over.

Moan over thanks for listening to this very slowly written missive.

    Frank.

Another Zoe Ball fan here - intelligent and articulate and has her father's gift of explaining concepts clearly.

Have to agree about the camera work.  I want to see the feet more than the top line but the whole would be good so I can choose what to check.  However, been thinking and saying that since the first series but the Beeb doesn't seem to recognise just how many people out there actually do, or have done, ballroom dancing and know a bit about it.

I've never done ballroom, or any other type of dance come to that, but even I know that the footwork is a vital element of dance!  Cutting away and closeups certainly don't help when trying to get an overall picture of the performance.

Sorry KT.  You're right, it's important for everyone to see what the judges can see.

Bit like gardening or cooking progs where the camera looks at the presenter's face instead of what they're actually doing or the plant/flower/ingredient/technique they're talking about......

Don't watch Zoe very often but I think she does a good job

Already looking forward to Hallowen show

Shame Lesley went out but somebody has to go image

Sorry Aym, we have to be kind, Lesley was wonderful for her age and I loved her, let's face it we have to be kind to our feathered friends, it was obvious she had hit the buffers in stamina, Lesley would never have made it through the Jive next week. I danced yet gave up jive years ago it is a heart attack formula. Dancers do not keep Ed in the show, to some he is good entertainment, they are looking for quirky not correct dancing. Some of us stopped fighting that battle years ago when we thought of it as a dance show, The GBP proved us the minority wrong by keeping in the comics and sending good dancers home. Of all the millions who watch what percentage will ever have done more than dance round a handbag and that is only the men. Sit back enjoy and wait until after Blackpool when the real dancers appear.

  • Your right RB, Lesley is 71, she's just had her birthday. Zoe gave her a cake on ITT with a pic of Anton on it.

Shame about Lesley, but Franks probaly right re jive.

Do hope Edd Balls goes home soon, but want Anastasia to go too. She was better this week though. Wonder if Brendon will be well next week.......apparently they don't get on.

Ore and Danny still my favourites image

I don't know if there's any truth in that, but my wife said that Anastasia seemed more relaxed this week.  Maybe it's just that this dance was better suited to her abilities.  I only started to watch this week so haven't seen any previous 'issues' between them.

That made me laugh in my porridge "DR" you missed one thing, Ed Balls is really the Prince in disguise and sweeps Cinders off her feet at the end (nearly dropping her) and then drops the glitter ball on her foot "err" I mean fits it on her foot. Thanks for that it took the bitter taste off the Blueberries, have to be careful with sugar.

"SGL" believe me I am right about the Jive, a couple came to our dance club every week and demonstrated the Lindy Hop Jitterbug and Jive, he was a retired Policeman and she was younger, they both had to give up when she had a mild stroke and he a suspect heart attack, Joan and I had given the jive up a long time before. Remember when the Jitterbug was what took place in a corner of the ballroom by young kids in flares that tripped them up whilst we dancers gave it full speed ahead in the Quickstep to "In the Mood" the jitterbuggers (we called them worse than that, they got in the way of real dancing) could not do the normal dances.

Zoe would be OK if I understood half of what she says, they all do it on Radio, rabbit on your brain stops working and then you miss the title of a song you had forgotten, Karen in her review of the dances slows it down and demonstrates "Phew Wow" so my slow old brain can take it in. I just stopped watching.

I didn't think Lesley was the worst, but, if she would have had to jive next week then I think it's just as well she's out.

I really think Ed should go next. Can't understand why Daisy was in the dance off. I think she's the best woman dancer. Maybe her costume wasn't pretty enough.
