Which varieties did you get Liz? Did they have a lot of flowers ? Some don't flower well in cooler conditions but often the first few flowers don't open fully ,practise flowers, also if its their first year they'll still be settling in, trying to establish their roots and flower takes a lot of energy , sure they'll be better next year , the lamium probably isn't helping they don't like to be crowded by other plants.
Did you buy them bare root ? as usually the leaves are trimmed back by half to save energy, they soon regrow and don't flop then, hope this helps but if you'd like to add a picture I ll take a look
Forgot to say there are evergreen, semi evergreen and dormant types the dormants, that die back completely in the winter, are looking pretty floppy and tatty now I just cut all the foliage off those now to tidy them up.
Hi Kathy, Sorry i'm only answering now, my husband has been in hospital, so I've not been on the computer, missed seeing your flowers. Kathy I do digital scrapbooking now, I have done normal layouts before with paper and embellishments but I’m really in to digital scrapbooking now. I don’t have a cuttlebug I have a bigshot which does the same as a cuttlebug. My Mother-in-law has a cross stitch in a frame that was given to her, the amount of work that goes in to them, you would really appreciate getting one of them because it is a lot of work. Wish I was closer you could teach me how to crochet, I know the basics but I can confuse myself easily. I’ll message you my email.
Lyn I have never heard of corn dolls, just googled them, they look great, can’t believe I’ve never heard or seen them.
Stunning flowers as always Kathy, love the colour on Nile crane, Lake effect, Creature of the Night, the colour on Night Beacon is simply stunning love it. The Joy of life x is lovely
Oh Hostafan1, I know how you feel with the cats, I don’t have 9 cats come in the garden but I do have five from two different neighbours, these cats spend more time in my garden than they do in their owners garden, there owners garden in just grass, nowhere to hide or play, that’s why I think they most of there time in my garden, I’ve had to stop feeding the bird because the cats kept getting them, no matter how high I put there bird feeders.
I allow them to roam about the garden, but never under the feeders.
They're either shooed off, or, if it's Sebastian, he's picked up and moved to the front of the house. He's got a splint on one leg after being caught in a trap, and a wonky tail after being hit by a car. ( I'm secretly very fond of him, but don't tell Hubby )
I don't mind the cats either, actually I feel really sorry for them, There owners don't allow them in the house, the cats always come up to our to get feed, I try to feed them in the front garden rather than the back where I get alot of the birds but they still go round the back. We had to report one of our neighbours because his ear got very bad and only had half an ear left and she never made any attempt to take him to the vets, we always feed him and he used to come in the house, we would of took him to the vets, by the vet said they can not see the animal unless we had the owners permission, we showed the vets photo's of his ear and they said it was cancer, they told us to report her. we sent her a letter saying she had two weeks to get the cat to the vets or we would report her, she never took him so we reported her, the inspector come down and gave her a few weeks to get it sorted and she never did so they took the cat, it will be a year in January since they took him, as you can imagine she is not to impressed with us, I'm not one to go reporting people but I won't let a animal suffer.
I've not heard of digital scrapbooking I'll google that one, I have quite a few discs I use for my cardmaking but get told off for using all the printer ink , I did try to teach my sister to crochet years ago, she's a brilliant knitter much better than me but crochet she can't do.

I would love to have them in my garden if I didn't have my cat. I think they are highly poisonous to cats?
Daylilies are not dangerous to cats, It is only true lilies, Lilium, that are toxic.
there's the problem with "common names" again
I've dozens of hemerocallis in my garden and my neighbour's 9 , yes 9 cats are regular visitors, ( unfortunately )
