Bushman, I think I might have over stepped the line in my conversation with you on the other thread, so in answer to your question about how long our cold weather lasts - we usually need to light the fire (house heater) around Anzac Day which is 25 April and keep it going until about September. It obviously changes from one year to another. Hubby reminded me that the official fire season starts in October, so we wouldn't have the heater going then. (he is a volunteer bush fire fighter).
Yarrow, you might like to look at a couple of my watercolours that I put on Marion's Bristol Garden thread. You appear to love your plants and gardens like I do.
I'm fairly new as well Pat and as i'm sure you'll notice i tend to wander off subject quite a bit. no need to get annoyed it's just one of those things and adds to the site. Or am i wrong?
That'll be the tour de France? I'm more a motor sport fan - 4 wheels instead of two but i do watch the tour when i can, as you say the scenery is quite something. If ever i can figure out how to make my camera and computer speak to each other i'll upload some pictures of my local area and garden. No roos in mine tho!
It's gratifying to hear that someone else has those problems. Without Hubby, I'd be in real trouble getting the photos up. The other thing I've managed to do several times, is to hit the "submit reply" button more than once because it didn't appear to have worked the first time. (Sigh) Patience is supposed to be a virtue.
Do you have deer around where you live? There are deer in the bush around here that have escaped farms, but I hear that people aren't happy about them wandering around free.
must go -only 10 km to go - yes the Tour de France. It's 12.30am here.
Yes Pat many many Roe deer in countryside around me and Red deer in Highlands. Also have mutjak, fallow and sika deer locally as well. Yes i must be off also it's 3.30pm here. I'll say goodnight to you and many thanks for you company today. May well drop you a line tommorrow.
Runnybeak, Bushman and Lesley - thanks so much for your kind support. I'll definitely try the Forkers thread. It's been a bit frantic here watching the end of the stage - my heart' still racing. Amazing stamina and talent on those young men.
Even though it's now 1.10am, and bed time, Hubby has just started a 'webinar' group for his genealogy hobby. I think I'll leave him to it and hit the sack.

.
Great entertaining thread
Yup its true enough Lesley. Pat just write whatever you like and don't worry
I still feel like cringing with embarrassment, however this particular thread seems more relaxed than some of the other ones. Thanks for your support.
We are currently glued to the TV because the bike race only has 25km to go and the Basque scenery is spectacular.
