Katherine W, you could pot up the top, or occassional, you can get them to root in a jar of water, then toms later in the year. Pat E where do you live, Kangaroos and SNOW!
We have ski fields at Thredbo and Perisher which is not far from where we live. To be honest, we don't always get snow here, it depends on the direction it comes from. The ski fields nearly always get it though and when they don't get enough they have ways of producing some to keep the skiers occupied. The ski season opens here on what we call the Queen's Birthday weekend (the first weekend in June).
This winter has been colder for us than usual and yesterday the snow stretched from Tasmania to Queensland on the easterun side of the country.
It doesn't seem to bother them. They spent today laying around the orchard - laying on very wet snow-defrosted ground in the sun and didn't start to get up to graze until about 4 o'clock. There were about 10-12 of them soaking up the water and sun.

The rosellas are having a bit of a problem with a magpie telling them to clear off the bird feeder. Sorry about how dark it is, but it's under a tree.
