Wow! Hours of much needed really 'nice' rain today in mid-Suffolk - persistent but not damagingly heavy, warm and no wind. My garden looks much greener and lusher and I'm sure everything has grown 2" - and (for a change) all the blossom is still in place.
H/W and iro***g all done today & lovely gardening weather forecast for tomorrow. Soil will be lovely and soft for weeding - good results all round me thinks
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
we got enough rain to fill our empty water butts in late May, now in mid June they're dry again (I have storage for about 1500 litres and my garden is only 12m by 5m!)),
they keep saying its going to rain and either we get 20 minutes of torrential downpour (with hail!!) or 6 hours of on and off again drizzle, neither of which is much good, we need a couple of days of steady away rain to top up my pond and water butts!
We've had no significant rain in months here in Essex. The earth is like concrete, big cracks opening up all over the place - even the weeds are dying. Both water butts have been completely empty for many weeks now.
Think I'll start growing cacuts next yr....

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
Most of this week has been luvly - just a few high cirrus clouds around 20-26° with a nice breeze. Today it's 16° with thick cloud - which would be fine if they produced some rain! I've been planting out some bedding begonias but the earth is soooo dry it turns to dust.
Update @ 2.20pm - clouds have cleared and blue skies again - suppose I'll just have to get the lounger out again...
Can you get that Airbus loaded please Pansy? (for tomorrow when I'm at work please)

We were supposed to get rain last night. It threw it down about half a mile up the road, we got zilch.
Rained all day yesterday, everything soaking wet.

No it is quite cool, mainly due strong breeze, but it is not raining at least, just very cloudy.
