I also have lots of thuggy geranium but it is a rather lovely pink and the intensity of the pink varies from bed to bed. Try growing it with that other lovely thug - Alchemilla mollis for a great pink/limey green combination; good in a vase too.
Planted out all my dahlias and mixed cosmos in between. Going away for a week so will overdose on the slug pellets and hope for the best. Happy Gardening!
Still doing battle with moss whenever I get the chance - yesterday, in gaps between mending tears in the strawberry net. Will get the net on tomorrow if the forecast is right, while the fruit is barely set, and before the squirrels have noticed there's anything attractive to eat. 2 years ago the berries were turning red before I got the net up, and the squirrels chewed through it to get to what they wanted... had to reinforce it with chicken wire in the end.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Lots of potting-on done today. I would normally be putting these partticular plants in the borders at this time but they are a bit smaller than usual due to the cool weather we've been having. I'd sooner delay by a week or two than give the slugs a feast!
A dozen melon plants and four cucumbers planted into the polytunnel together with about a dozen 'spare' tomato plants that I had no room for in the greenhouse; I've given away as many as I can but can't bear to assign the remaining ones to the compost heap.. There are still a dozen to go outside but the forecast is for 4C and battering winds for a couple of days or so, so won't risk them yet.
So&&ing woodpigeons ate 2 rows of cabbages (which I forgot to net yesterday evening) early this morning - luckily I had spares for those too!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Thanks Edd and Verdun. Knowing gardeners, the prize is more likely to be cake. Will let you know if my dahlias survive.
