Took four hours today to finishing sanding and then scattering the grass seed inbetween bouts of torrential rain and hailstones. At least it's getting a good watering in!
After a heavy frost and a misty start, yesterday eventually turned out very well for pottering in the garden. I have put up two spring hanging baskets filled with primulas and swapped primulas into the front door pots replacing the cyclamen that are done and can now go out in the front bed.
Cleaned up and top dressed several post of hostas which are now out in the elements but sheltered against the front wall, divided another pot of hostas to make 2 to keep and 4 to swap or sell for charity and sowed 6 kids of tomato, 4 kinds of chili and one of sweet pepper.
Today is very wet and cold so I'm taking 5 pine kitchen chairs to Waterloo to be dipped and then hope to be able to sow some beetroot and get my red onions sets in cells as it's too cold and wet to plant them direct in the veggie beds.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Been busy out there today. Weather good, in fact sat in the sunshine for a while, it was really warm.
Have planted 3 clematis, Freckles, Winter Beauty and Maria Basescu. Also planted Acer Katsura and Phlox Perfume Cloud. Still have a white lupin to plant but not sure where to put it yet. Have lots of Hyacinths opening (the free ones with the mag coupon)
Mostly pottering today, did take the time to go over the veg patch with the rotavator to stop the lumps sat on top drying out in the sun. Spent about an hour sharpening the rotavator tines, a job worth the time when breaking up clay.
Spent some time just sat in the sun too, really was quite warm out of the chilly wind. Also got in an hours feet up time catching up with the current series of GW.

White over in rural Notts. Hopefully the last of the frosts this year.

Oh forgot, I also potted up my Ammi Majus seedlings - loads germinated but only potted on a few as not much space left
Verdun, don't be too hard on yourself, Those cheesecakes need to be dealt with asap. Sometimes gardening has to wait.
