That is the question Busy-Lizzie, I've been so preoccupied with constructing it I haven't given proper thought as to what to plant! I have 3 Mexican feather grass and 2 small heathers that need going somewhere, as well as 2 very nice blackish/purpley red hebes that I bought on impulse. Then there's the wildflower seeds I've got (although they could go elsewhere). I really should stop buying plants before I know where I'm going to put them! Does anyone have any ideas?
I like that Denno, I would go native with woodland plants to complement the logs and stumps, but each to their own, it will look nice whatever you go with.
I've been thinking of ways to use the old Victorian idea of 'stumperys' with wildlife gardening. A log and stump raised bed fits the bill very well. The Victorians would make them in shady places and planted them with ferns, mosses and lichens (or at least they encouraged them to grow). But adapting ideas to ones own ends has to be the best thing with gardening.
I was thinking natural/woodlandy at first, as I've made it at the back of our garden which is a (very) thin strip of woodland, but now I don't know. I'm tempted to experiment a bit this year and I can always rejig things next year if need be. Looking forward to it!

Looks interesting Denno. What are you going to plant in it?
I sowed some mange-tout peas today, but had to stop as it rained, so did some more pricking out of seedlings in the GH.That is the question Busy-Lizzie, I've been so preoccupied with constructing it I haven't given proper thought as to what to plant! A wild flower garden sounds good
a mixed packet with another packet of Borage theblue flowers are lovely and useful as a herb too.
The small wildlife critters will love you for it
Ah Verdun your suggestions sound perfect
Perhaps you could create another project Denno
