Hi Boater, Thanks for the complement, but I can assure you that I am not a specialist, just a keen amateur gardener with a few years experience. I agree that this is a great place to be able to share ideas and our experiences. Thanks again!
Well that's my tomato, pepper, chilli and onions planted! I have planted 9 varieties of tomato. Pretty much the same varieties as last year. Slightly off topic now ... But if you liked my growing tomatoes videos you might like my latest video about how to smoke salmon. Here is the link if you want to view it.
Trying tomatoes for the first time this year, sowed the seeds last weekend, lot of seedlings showing already in the propagator. Shall be checking out your videos Simon as I've not got a clue about them, other than they are red and taste pretty good when home grown.
Talking about rizzlers and tomatoes we use to have a 'hippy' lived next door in the 70's, my Dad the village Bobby use to comment on his wonderful 'tomato' plants - it was years later I realised what they actually were (the hippy became a good friend of mine in my teens) and just how tolerant Dad really was.
Hmm, I really need to get my tomatoes started. Problem is, we're currently selling our house and my wife really doesn't like the idea of trays of compost lying around in our sunnier spots inside!!!
Gemmajf, good luck with your tomatoes, it sounds like you are a week ahead of me so far! I hope that you find my videos to be helpful. I like your story!
if you are interested in growing onions, then have a look at my hot off the press video:
It did occur to me but I quite like the seed bit - even though at the moment I'm not brilliantly set up for it. Not exactly why we're moving but fingers crossed...
I think I will just plant a couple of seed tray's worth this week. I think I've identified a sunny spot inside that shouldn't cause too much of an issue. Once they become bigger, though, I need to hope for a warm spring so they can go into the coldframe early. My usual chosen spot when they're in individual 3" pots is the bedroom windowsill which may not go down brilliantly...

Bf206 it might be easier to buy some plants this year, after you have moved?
