Irene - again, I'm not Simon, but tom leaves will curl for a variety of reasons including just because they can. If the leaves look healthy otherwise, I wouldn't worry.

    Thanks Italophile i'll do that

  • Hi Simon, great vids I must say image Nice of you to take the time to do this to help others, like myself, who stupidly plants there tomatoes in late march indoors, which ofc I did again this year, but they look well, are about 1.5 foot tall and are already starting to go to flower, but I will try planting earlier next year! One question though, do you collect your own seed from your own crop to re-sow next year as I do, if so, maybe we could start up a seed swap on your post, for those who grow toms, I know we have a seed swap for flowers and do get the odd veggie grower there, but a new thread for vegs/fruit would be nice! This year I am growing some unusual ones along side my normal cherry and standard toms, yellow, black, pear, orange, red, yellow and green tiger, beef, some funky red and orange start shaped ones, baby plum, giant plum, orange plum, don't ask names, as I get them free from work as I work in a fine dinning restaurant, but we remove the seeds, so thought I could use them, all I did was to remove the seeds, then rinse several times in water, any floaters went down the drain ofc, as they are dead anyway then strain in a tea sieve the rub each seed ( painstaking I know) on kitchen paper to remove the green flesh which I hear actually stops them growing! Then dry on some kitchen paper for two days on a warm windowsill image Ever single seed germinated image Let me know if you would be interested in a tom or chilli seed swap towards the end of the growing season? I am new to growing chilli, and have ghost chilli, pepper super hot f1, pepper hot paper lantern, cayenne, pepper sweet mini mix, and bell peppers and chilli seeds from work, super tasty and supper big and the chilli's where hot!

I generally grow herbs, but last year decided to try toms and cucumber, onions, shallots, garlic and wild garlic, to name but a few, this year im growing those mentioned above along side, melons, kiwi, strawberries, chards, lettuces, and currently making my first hmm, don't know what to call it, bar a hand made cold frame, for my first attempt at growing micro salad and micro herbs!

    So wish me luck!
