GG I would worry that he'd attack the glass even more as the RSPB says he's attacking his reflection to scare it away. Just hope he starts nest building soon to keep himself occupied.
Poor thing Dorris, they dont do themselves any favours do they! No chance you could put something infront of the door so he cant get at it? I know it would be awkward for you though , maybe a bunch of sticks, or put the paper/ plastic on the outside?
Yes, that's what I was thinking, too. A piece of cardboard or plastic, on the outside, so he cannot see any reflection. It shouldn't take too long until he is too busy doing other things!
I tried that by sticking newspaper all over one side of the patio doors, but guess what, he just moved to the other panel. But because ours are sliding patio panels the seal of one has to slide over the other! I've tried all options. He goes to the meal worms each time I put some out, so I'm now feeding him a little bit several times a day, to distract him. It's working well as he now comes to the window sill and does a little Bob up and down dance each time he's run out of food. He's getting nice and fat!
We also have a single fieldfare (there were two, but only one now?) who is working his way through the last pile of fallen apples. The blackbirds keep trying to get to them, but he is very aggressive and runs at them with wings outstretched and tail fanned out. I've brought a few apples nearer the house for the more persevering blackbirds.
We saw five hazel hens today! I am pretty excited about them! They gathered under the birdfeeder, but I don't know if they actually ate the sunflower seeds or if they just checked out the place... Here is a really bad picture (dusk & chairs mirrored in the window).

Sounds like he should get nice and tame, too, Doris; I'm pleased for you about that.

Been planting a clematis and Lily bulbs today so I've had my two friendly robins observing. A few bluetits and lots of house sparrows.
What is the rspb red list?
It means that the population has seriously declined and they're considered endangered.
House Sparrows are on the Red List.

How lovely - we don't get them in the UK - from what I can find out they're a particuarly beautiful type of grouse
