Dianthus is right. I envy you having that species gladiolus (first photo). I had it in Melbourne, but it hadn't survived the move.  I did a painting of it at that time. They all look lovely and I can just imagine the perfume! image

Okay, okay. Before you all jump on me, I misremembered the plant. It is Acidanthera bicolor (peacock Flower).  But anyway, I'm attaching the painting that I did in 2003.

Discovered a daffodil in flower. It is an unnamed dwarf daffodil that I bought from Aldi 2 years ago.

I don't agree with selling unnamed plants, but I'm glad I bought it - it's very bright. image

New name for acidanthera is Gladiolus murielae, Pat.  Nice painting.  Yes the site is playing up sometimes.  Some of your pictures right themselves when you click to enlarge, others like your painting do not!  Another fine day in Bristol and no rain forecast till Thursday so lots of gardening this week,  My Bramleys are ready and some falling so I have alerted the neighbours to come and help themselves and to blackberries to go with them as I do not have the time to pick and deliver.  One is already helping herself tp plums and has installed a second freezer in her garage.
