I could as my monthly supply of food is coming today flumpy but I shall have a feast of Scottish music and poetry instead. As a teenager I was always booked to perform at some function or other on those nights!
Oh I must look up St Oggie! I am alright with St. Andrew as St, Andrews was my first university. Two of my deliveries have arrived and i now have all the ingredients to bake my three Xmas cakes, including the most delicious looking glace golden cherries - oh how my hands were itching to try one! I have looked at the brandy bottle and it needs a new one bought this year. Forgot about that. One of my deliveries is coming next Tuesday they tell me (Black Friday log jam) and I am still awaiting my plants but they come Royal Mail who comes late to our lane.
The wind has dropped and it is very mild for this time of year but looks quite damp out the garden. Still the forecast is for mostly dry so should be able to get some tidying up done and I will treat myself to some of the lovely honeysuckle for my study mantlepiece.
I used to make seven, Xmas cakes that is - for presents. Then I started painting pictures. Nowadays I grow lots of plants - giving red camellias this Xmas and pleased to see they have buds on. I have done quite a lot of tidying up the garden - eucalyptus bark everywhere! It was ambrosia to me to get out in the fresh air again and my few sprigs of honeysuckle are scenting the whole house. THrilled to see pink, purple and white hellebores starting to flower as well as the green. And the birds came to keep me company in their droves. The wind must have been dreadful for them. I took some pictures of my treasures since it is December 1st.
