Garden very wet this morning so we had some rain through the night.  Forecast for drrizzle and some heavy rain all day so unlikely I will get much done outside.  I did manage to fill up the green wheeliebin yesterday so it will be emptied this morning.  I had to delete from my inbox this morning lots of Black Friday offers, some from nurseries I would not buy from no matter how cheap.

It has here too GWRS so will get out soon.  This week's offers from Secret Gardening Club have just come into my inbox so ordered some dark purple crocuses and 3x Hosta "Wide Brim".  With my member discount of 10% and no P&P this came to £7.18p!  Yes frost is coming back through the night so good idea to get the bubble wrapping done.  My cold frame is full so must remember to put down the lid late afternoon.

Colder this morning and heavy rain and strong winds forecast for all day in Bristol so I have switched on the heating again at least for this morning to warm the house up .  Their is standing water on the patio so the rain must have kept the frost at bay.  Any gardening will be done in the conservatory today.  Lots of deadheading needed I see.among the violas and pelargoniums.  I expect most of the Bramleys still on the tree will be knocked down in the strong winds nut the Charles Ross apples usually hang on till gone Xma  Yesterday while I was working out in the garden two squirrels joined me.  They were very busy carrying away the smaller apples, no doubt to dry them somewhere for the winter.  One year at this time I watched one struggling to poke one which was too big under a roof tile next door.  Eventually, he solved it.  He nibbled it , sitting in the gutter till it was small enough to push in.  In Edmonton in Canada I watched squirrels slotting mushrooms to dry in between the logs in my sister;s logpile and inspecting the ones they had done before.  She said as soon as they were dry enough they took them away to store.  Nature can teach us a lot.

Hi Marion, just been catching up on your blog, sounds and looks like you've been busy, I love the part about the squirrels, they are cute, we used to have two here but both seemed to have moved on : (.

We have only had one dry day here this week and two power cuts until 7.30 at night Not amused.

Glad your plants arrived Marion, sounds like your going to have a lovely perfumed corner I would love to sit in it mmmmmm : )

Good to hear from you, flumpy.  i hope it is not too wet and windy for you.  I have been doing Xmas shopping online as some of the things i want have been reduced in the Black Friday sale!  I still have three Xmas cakes to make but waiting for online supplies to come on Monday.   The perfume garden does have a bench and table on the end.  What I need is a shelter of some sort for when i get caught in the rain as it is right at the very end of my very long garden!
