My Bristol Garden in 2015

It must have been a very gusty wind in Bristol last night as it rolled my huge garden umbrella which has a very heavy wrought iron base, out of its corner and wedged it by the back door where it is now stuck.  I will leave it there till the wind eases a bit.  Certainly no day for gardening today. Much too dangerous.  It is 12degrees right now but set for the temperature to drop as the day wears on to 6 in the afternoon.  A topsy turvy day if ever there was one.  And a very strange winter as I can see the white flowers od Arabis montana shining at me in the slate garden from my conservatory window.  Never have they been this early before.

My back garden seems to be ok so far but at the allotment one of my potted trees was over so I need to deal with that once the wind has died down. I plan on putting it in the ground but not until spring so I will just have to top up the compost

i hope you will be able to sort your back door amd umbrella out image

All sorted now and black box retrieved from the drive.  I took a quick shifty up the garden just to check all was safe which it was.  Lots of primroses in flower.  They think 12 degrees through the night must be spring!

After a splendid night of  Henry 8th history on BBC I forgot about the nasty weather and now everything seems very calm.

I gasp every morning when I see it, Wintersong!  This morning promises to be good for gardening - bright, dry and calm and neither too cold nor too mild, so should get the green wheeliebin full up for emptying tomorrow morning.  I may take my camera out shortly too.

Worked hard in the sunshine and filled up wheeliebin.  I found a huge branch laden with cones had been blown off my Scots pine in the front garden.  The garden is full of blossom and lovely smells.
