Very wet and cold in Bristol this morning.  I am so glad I got a lot done yesterday in the sunshine.  Forecast is for cold days and nights for some time.  You may get your lovely frost pictures yet Fruitcake.  I tend to take mine from the bungalow through the windows as I need to wear gloves outside when it is frosty.

  • Good morning Marion,

Dull and cold here in Chepstow......car was very well covered in ice.........I can remember ,about 2 years ago, photographing large icicles around the garden.

I have been able to do some gardening this morning, frumpy1.  Beautiful blue skies and sunshine though it is a bit cold but it was lovely among the snowdrops and cyclamen.  and then the post brought me £40 for the "Star" Letter in Jan. 24th edition of Amateur Gardening Mag. (out on Tuesday) so today has started out very well indeed.  February Issue of Gardeners World Mag. was in the post as well.  And we are having free Zinnia seeds with the March issue!    Meadowland 2 - how unfortunate you are not having the Bristol weather when you are so near!

Maybe we need to move south, I would love to live in Devon or cornwall, I have had lots of holidays there since I was 1 year old image

  • Hello Flumpy

I was born in Cornwall ,a small seaside town called Marazion.....(Where St Michael's Mount is) the climate is so mild there but couldn't stand the winds and that dreadful drizzle.

Hi meadowland 2, awe I've been to Marizion quite a few times and walked up to the castle and got the small boat back, we always stayed in Praa sands not far from Marizion, my mum and dad want to move down there but have struggled to sell there house, they want to move to either Helston or around there, awe it's so nice to know someone from Marizion image

  • Hi Flumpy,Praa sands brings back many childhood memories......very dangerous tide there if I remember correctly.......Helston has everything your parents should want.....and of course the annual Floral dance!!.......Have they thought of Truro?

Is Truro similar to Helston?, at Praa sands we used to stay in a bungalow which is owned by the family who run the cafe on the beach, the bungalow was behind it, I remember me and my brother running straight out onto the beach every morning.......mmmm the fresh air image Did you do strawberry picking?
