Going to rain later on so out in the garden pronto to cut the Johnson Blue geraniums down to the ground.  that will fill up the green wheeliebin but no worries as one of my kind neighbours has just put a huge compost bin, dark green plastic like my others complete with lid over our dividing wall.  It must have been getting ditched on one of his demolition job and he rescued it for me as he could see the growing queue of full up weed boxes along my path waiting for somewhere to go to be recycled!  I can lift my alliums now today as well and dry the seedheads and dry the bulbs for next year and free up the big pots they are in to grow on my new climbers.Rain forecast for all day from 10 onwards and for most of the week ahead.  The sculptures of Shaun the sheep (all 70 of them all different) are out in Bristol so want to get down to the Botanic Garden to see and photograph their one some time this week.

The rain has started in Bristol but I did get a good many geraniums cut down and the sloe bush pruned.  I did a "Christopher Lloyd" with the pots lining the path (put them in a bunch) and swept the dead stuff from the path so the rain can clean it.  I like to give nature the chance to do its bit in the garden.

It looks as though we might get a little rain today.  That'll make a nice change.  It has been predicted for days, but the most we got a couple of days ago was a quick hail storm which only registered 1mm in the gauge.

We've been enjoying the bike race, although there were two nasty crashes yesterday  which shook everyone up.  It was 2am before we got to bed.

i plan on pottering around in the GH today, if I can.  I need to get some more seeds started. If it rains, that will give me the incentive to sit inside and go through my packets of seeds.

Rained in Bristol UK through the night too so my crazy paving had a good wash and the pots and raised beds will not need watering.  It is still raining lightly and the sky is grey so we may get a bit more.It is good when nature cooperates.I must look out some annual flower seeds to sow for flowers in the autumn .  I love to be able to bring fresh flowers in to the kitchen in December.  After that I rely on the conservatory to provide me with colour..

Marion, your garden just gets better and better.  What a lovely range of flowers. They must like the warm weather.

I picked another bowl of huge strawberries but will have to offer the broad beans to the neighbours to eat there are so many.

Well done with the broad beans. I've still got heaps in the freezer from last season and it's so nice to able to have food that I know hasn't been subjected to any pesticides.

I noticed last night when I was cooking dinner, that I'm getting through my lovely crop if onions now - probably enough to last another month or so, and I'm going to hate having to buy from the shops.  This last year I grew purple, brown and white onions, as well as leeks and French shallots. They were all really successful, so I've got seeds in again.

gardening is such a lovely way to spend our lives!

In 1989 I grew some gladioli which i Liked so much I painted.  The painting has been on my bedroom wall ever since and I never tire of looking at it.  i must try gladioli again next year.
