GWRS that sounds like more grass killer than weed killer to me. What a shame. The green capitals do not repeat so I am hoping Bristol will just go from strength to strength ecologically speaking like others before them have done. The award brought quite a lot of money with it to insulate houses and renew boilers etc so the rewards will go on and on in reduced heating bills and lower carbon emissions for years. I have just taken a lovely picture of one of my gerberas - i must post it.
My friend has been gardening all day in his tiny front and back garden and amused himself by sending me pictures of his salvaged rose and planted pine cones.
Wyalong Wattle - Acacia cardiophylla, so named because of the tiny heart shaped leaflets. Just opening for spring. This one is more golden than yellow like a lot of the other wattles.
That is so lovely,Pat. Pretty colour and leaves. Another splendid gardening day in Bristol weatherwise and forecast to continue all next week. Looks good for autumn clearing up and spring bulb planting.
Courier brought me 24 sweet william plugs which are now potted up and should be ready to go out in the garden beside the new wall flowers in the perfume garden. I have a delivery of winter heather still to come. I must get up the garden now and tidy up a bit for weekend visitors.
My second expected parcel has arrived with hostas not heathers - I remember changing my mind at the last minute - and a freebie rose which is a pretty shade of bluey pink and had shed a lot of its leaves in the post so will need a lot of care but looks healthy enough. The hostas were bareroot and very dry indeed so a long drink for them before I pot them up.
After two parcel deliveries this morning I was not expecting much in the letter post. how wrong i was. Two packets of seeds from his morning glory from my friend, one for me and one for Cathy who took me to see him after his op and admired it greatly. A pic on the front of the packet and a different one on the back! Just delightful.
New hostas all potted up and safari to stretch my legs resulted in a lot of oohs and aahs and click click of the camera despite it being so bright still.
