Tears(of joy) were running down my cheeks at the lovely concert i went to in the Victoria Rooms in Bristol this afternoon.  It was my first concert since I had my hearing aids and I had been feeling so down with the new medication that I could honestly say my spirits soared with the music from the choir.  Bristol University have a very big, excellent choir and the accompanist was magnificent.  The sun shone all day so if it does tomorrow I will feel so motivated to get lots done in the garden.  I saw pictures of my garden up on the stage full screen at the interval taken when I opened for the Friends' Funds and my neighbour said it looked like a Botanic garden.  well a lot of my plants did come from there!

Another day of glorious weather for gardening i promised which I am looking forward to making good use of.  I think there is room in the green wheeliebin for the rest of the prunings from the hardy fuchsias and the hydrangeas. We will see progress at teatime no doubt.

Oh what a wonderful morning in my garden - so much work done and lots of plants ready for the plant sale at the Bot. Gardens at Easter and my garden is Fifty shades od yellow with the kerria and forsythia in full bloom now and the cowslips and primulas self seeded everywhere , so I had to get my camera out .  I will edit them after some much needed nourishment.  My appetite has returned with a vengeance.

Yes I did see the oil subsidy to try and keep the SNP members sweet and growled in disapproval.  The education system was so good in Scotland when I was there that if one industry like the woollen industry faltered there were others to take their place and the workforce trained to work in them.  It is a very tough life on the oil rigs anyway.  Yes I have lots of dandelions to bring up trace elements from the subsoil with their long tap roots and brambles galore for eating with my Bramleys.  My garden is totally organic and pleasurable so weeds are as welcome as exotics.  Everything is given a site to suit it but lots find their own niche.  I have four grapevines that get smothered in grapes - lots are eaten fresh, lots made into juice and once made wine.

Your garden is so advanced Marion - you must have a cosy micro climate there.

The monster picture is great as every detail can be seen.  Hope you sleep well.

Hello Marion. I was at my daughter's near Poitiers for the weekend. She'd hoped I'd give her a hand in her garden, but the weather wasn't good. Her 3 small boys were overflowing with energy and eventually we went for a walk when the rain let off. The smallest (4) fell backwards off his bike and was covered in mud!

I think you would find the photos behave better if you put fewer on each post. 5 or 6, then send them and start afresh with the next batch.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Divided opinion on the monster pics then.  Thank you both.  I was suspecting it was the number of pics that was causing the trouble!  More gardening today as no rain forecast till dark here.  A tip about getting early tulips - just leave them in situ.  These were all planted two years ago and flowered at the normal time suggested on the packaging their first year.  I left them to die back naturally and this year they have appeared and all bloomed again a month early.
