Lovely, Marion. I like your blossom tree, it's earlier than any of mine. Which is it?

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

It is a freebie prunus - the base plant used for my "Dual plum".  The blossom is much earlier than the blossom for either te purple or yellow plum "branches" that were grafted on to it and I call it my Best Ever Buy as the plums too sre gorgeous - a deep purple round one and a round greeny yellow very sweet greengage.  Amazing what you get when you let your plants have their way!

Seven degrees colder today than yesterday and very wet as well.  Duck pond has appeared already outside the kitchen,  Lucky I took my pictures yesterday in the warmth and sunshine although I did not get as far as the front garden where the"Stresa" tulips are looking super peeping through the fronds of the ornamental grasses I have not tidied yet.  Narcissus cyclamineus also coming into flower there among the winter pansies.  Cold nights ahead but all the flowers out are hardy.

  • Grey and overcast here but can still see the island according to M O weather map we will be on the edge of the rain front so will have to wait and see image

If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.

The view from my kitchen door is not at all enticing but the birds are still calling for titbits.

The rain stopped at last so i went out for some fresh air and took my camera to stop myself being tempted to weed.  I did nor forget the front garden this time.

Cold again in Bristol today but dry.  Lots more tulips and hyacinths coming out in the garden and the first of the grape hyacinths which make a lovely spread of blue in my garden when all in flower.  Any gardening today will be in the conservatory - a bit of deadheading and tidying up as I want to be in good shape for going out to lunch with three of my sons tomorrow, Mother's Day.

Have a lovely Mother's Day, Marion. I'm making up posies for ladies at church tomorrow.

Here it's grey and drizzly, a greenhouse day.

Your tulips and grape hyacinths are much earlier than mine, but then I'm 3 hours from the sea in Dordogne.
