  • I have just changed the water in my dahlias I won in a raffle ten days ago and they are growing another head from the top of the flowers!!!  Really weird and something I have never seen before.  The leaves are all dead so i removed those but those flowers are still growing - definitely.  Here they are before and after.

Tests completed so looking forward to getting back to normal After I see the dr on Wednesday.  Here's today's photo of the violet that I sent some time ago. It's looking much better now. Hoping for rain this afternoon.

  • That is a lovely spread of violets, especially when you click on it and it is the right way up.  I'll never understand how those things work.  Good luck with your results Pat.  We have another lovely day in Bristol - dry warm and very sunny.  I hope to plant 20 to 30 red wallflowers today as a start and plant some more bog plants into my bog garden.  Somehow having to use a lot of my saved rainwater seems appropriate on a warm day.

Morning everyone. Bright sunny day here today. As usual the predicted rain didn't eventuate. Hubby says he needs to pump water into the tankS.  looks as though we might be having a dry summer.  To explain - we have 3 tanks which collect water from the various roofs, then Hubby pumps it from there to the top of the hill to another 2 tanks which then flow down (gravity feed) to the house for our use.  We haven't pumped for months, but it seems that we're getting through the stored water and Hubby noted that the lower tanks are overflowing (to the creek), so seems silly not to catch it while we can.image
