Ah yes they are there to educate in all things botanical like all botanical gardens but being the newest one in the UK Bristol is also a beautiful garden. When Monty Don visits us in July his talk is called "Why Garden?" and I can think of no more appropriate place to give such a talk. Just to enter it at any season helps you to leave the cares of the world outside.
Another dry sunny day for us gardeners here in Bristol - not that I saw anything needing doing in the Bot. garden on Wednesday. It is looking immaculate for the Easter big opening which is a sculpture and Art Exhibition Weekend. That very day they were putting up a dozen or so brown signs so that visitors can find us easily and we had the news we are now on the route of the Sightseeing buses. With the long term forecast for Bristol being much warmer than normal for April this year a bumper year for visitors is expected.
Oh it is so lovely up my garden. Here are pics of "good companions" mostly from bulbs my frend gives me when he changes his colour scheme. i put them all where I can see them from my kitchen, keeping each other company.
Beautiful photos Marion a visit to the Botanical Gardens is a must for me. Interested to hear you say the sightseeing bus goes there. As I travel by train that will be useful.
Had a busy month or so, here and there, domestic and family. Back home to take advantaged of this dry, sunny weather. The cold winds have 'held' much of my plants although the Hellebore always suprise me
will take a stroll around to see what else has come through.
I can just see the sweet peas, flumpy1. Bizzie B lovely hellebores. I love celandines too for the way they disappear so quickly after flowering - such neat plants. Gardeners World on the telly soon.
Seemed even shorter than normal tonight what with Monty and Nigel sitting staring at the frogs! Yes that was a beautiful garden and all those fragrant hostas must smell lovely when in bloom. I have some South African agapanthus as one of my fb friends is from there and sends me seeds.
Yes I know what you mean, I think it should be on for an hour, them African Agapanthus looked beautiful, it made me chuckle when the couple gave each other planning permission to put plants in there area .
well it's rain rain here in the NW and forecast for Sunday and Monday too, what's it like in Bristol today?
