Lovely pics, BizzieB. Alchemilla mollis always stars in the rain. I hope those melons are a success. I was interested in Monty's failure to create a meadow! He will see the one we created at the Botanic Garden when he visits next month.
Brilliant sunshine again this morning and warmer though we seem to have had some rain through the night as the garden is dripping everywhere, certainly a big change from dank yesterday. Full of beans after a lazy day yesterday so will try not to run out of energy like the English Women's football team did yesterday at the end of their game! i thought they were going to throw the points away in extra time when their stamina collapsed. But saved by the whistle and they won. They certainly played better than in the first match against France when the weather was foul.
Morning Marion I see you've been very busy with the camera, gorgeous pictures some I recognise from my garden, we are off work this week and it's my dad's birthday , I ordered him a Exachorda shrub from Crocus, it's arrived already all gift wrapped, he asked me a few weeks ago where he could get it, so I thought ho that would be a nice Birthday present, he's very happy with it and looking forward to all the white flowers coming out .
I have two exochorda looking lovely right now but would get too wet snapping them. Many Happy Returns to your father, flumpy. I have picked in a big bowl of srawberries and wowed at my broad beans which loved the rain and took some pics although everything is very wet.
Thank you Marion , you take lovely photos and your flowers are looking gorgeous, my strawberries are still flowering, I will take photos later, it's raining at the moment so going food shopping and visiting my family You enjoy your strawberries Marion
I'm back from New York and have had a lovely time catching up on all your photos. Beautiful, gosh, you have worked hard. I hope you recovered from the stinging nettles.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Busy- Lizzie, I hope you had a great time in New York and it was not too hot for you. When I was there waiting for the Queen Elizabeth to leave in the evening I found it so hot even in the park I went into a huge cinema even although I had seen the film but they had a fashion show on a catwalk during the interval which was from Paris and quite mind blowing. The air conditioning was superb. I expect you have a lot to catch up with in your garden. My nettle stings responded to aloe vera well, Thank you. Another lovely day in Bristol so harvesting some strawberries and picking blackcurrants today.
My friend visited Stogumber in Devon yesterday which had an open day of 16 gardens and found when he got home in the evening his own neighbourhood (last two pics) was just as lovely. The Clifton suburb of Bristol looks so lovely in the summer. The barn is very beautiful in Stogumber.

fading to such a delicate lilac ^
I caught up with GW, interesting to see melons being grown in the coldframe adapted as a hot bed. Always something different to think about.
