That geranium has been in my garden ever since I came 51 years ago so is in the Marion Roll of Honour, It is called "Johnsons Blue" and I believe is a variety of Geranium himalayiense. Storm is threatening as it has gone noticeably colder. My black currants I am trialling for Mr. Fothergill are ripening very early. Lots of red strawberries this morning.
I had a bowlful with cold custard, Linda - delicious. I love the white peony too. We are still waiting for the rain in Bristol so looks like it will hit us through the night.
Good morning Marion Yes, steady rain here too throughout the night. No strong wind thank goodness.
I'm pleased that your open day was successful your garden looked superb, not least the abundance of colour at every turn. It is hard work but worth it.
I must take a tour of my garden at some point today. It's looking so lush and blooming beautifully and there's always some plant tucked away to suprise me with its flower.
You too, BizzieB. The garden is damp ;it is cloudy but warm; very little rain has collected in my containers but it is still drizzling so I have hopes for more. Time to go to the shops for milk and eggs I think today. I may put on my old raincoat and wellies and do some pruning. The Japanese flowering quince is starting to show its red blossom again and is covered in fruit so needs a lot of attention but that is such a prickly job. The winter flowering heathers need clipping back as well. I do enjoy pruning though as I usually can envisage the results having done it for so many years.
It drizzled all day but still not a lot of rainwater in my containers to show for it. Felt rather cold too so I decided against the pruning job and watched "Suspicion" and "Rebecca" again. Something so comforting about an old film. It looks like drier weather is on the way so should get some gardening done tomorrow.

Some pics from my friend's tiny garden in inner Bristol before the rains come.
Rosa moyesii? Nice!
Yes, lovely hips.
I just managed to get my strawberries for supper in before the rain came.
Lovely strawberries Marion! Mine are still just flowers yet! And your Peonies are beautiful!
