With great difficulty because of the bright sun casting shadows i photographed the koi carp in the pools at the garden up the road which had a fete for charity.  Easier to photograph the plants!

Back in winter clothes because the wind was so icy despite the brilliant sunshine, flumpy.  Better tomorrow methinks but frost is forecast for Thursday night.

Another good gardening day although a little chilly.More seedlings needing pricked out and wheeliebin to fill up ready for emptying tomorrow.  Must pick and freeze some rhubarb too.

Heinz tomatoes and Cherry Belle pricked out and spent compost taken up to the bog garden which is a good place to put it as all the plants in there want is lots of rain.  I wheeled it up in the new wheelbarrow as even a large old washing up bowl full of compost is a struggle for me to carry far without getting breathless.  No bother at all with the wheelbarrow.  Found some more sprouted potatoes from last year's crop in the back of the garage so will get them planted up.    After a cup of coffee.

It was very cold on the hands today but I got there and green wheeliebin now put out to be emptied tomorrow morning.  We have rain forecast for the holiday weekend but tomoorrow looks like a fine day for gardening and taking pictures.  Mt sunflower seeds "Titan" from Mr. Fothergill which I sowed on 25.04.15 have germinated and joined the cosmos seedlings.  An Aquilegia clematiflora brought to me by a FB friend who visited last year has its first bud so looking forward to seeing that open.

Hi Marion, you sound like you've had a busy but nice gardening day, sounds like your going to have some lovely plants growing there, it's Bank holiday weekend and I can't wait to rest I'm so tired, going to get some more compost at the weekend and may have a peak in the local garden centre : )

A bit cloudier this morning but also a bit warmer and no sign of the frost we were warned about in Bristol.  Better day for taking photographs however.so that is what I will be doing when I have worked my way through my list of gardening jobs.

Have a good gardening day, Marion. No gardening here, raining, but I think I need a break after the last 2 days anyway.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Busy-Lizzie, it is very cold on the hands, feet and nose out there so in for a hot coffee to warm me up.  i think I will start tidying the patios for my Open Day.  Scrubbing tables and chairs will warm me up and I can empty the spent compost from pots lurking in corners and use it in my bog garden.  You have a good rest and you will enjoy your garden even more when you are reinvigorated by a rest and it is reinvigorated by the rain. We are promised some rain for the holiday weekend.
