Morning Marion, have you seen the flooding in the NW, my father in laws works was flooded (car show room) some cars where upside down, the river Roche down the field from my mum and dad burst its banks and all the park and cricket club is flooded and the gas explosion is only two miles from me, it's scarily too close. Weather has forecast sunshine today thank goodness : /
Yes flumpy. This has brought back memories of the Somerset Levels floods. i do hope you and your parents do not get flooded. Here in Bristol we had quite a lot of rain through the night but it is dry now,but we have a warning for heavy rain and high winds on Wednesday so there may be damage down here on the coasts. I have lots of visitors coming tomorrow so have just put a ham in the oven for three and a half hours. I have been wallowing in my two new gardening books - Carol Klein's new book is very beautifully illustrated with photographs while the Woodland Plant art book has me itching to get drawing. The book was written by Heather Tanner and the etchings are by Robin Tanner and my copy is no.436 of the 950 copies printed. I feel very special having such a book which took forty years to compile.
Hi Marion yes I remember the Somerset floods it looked frightening, my brother is going to send me photos today so I will download them later, hope you enjoy your book Marion and relax.
A neighbour has just invited me over for Sunday lunch but i had to decline as my ham is in the oven with roast potatoes which I like to baste! Ah well, perhaps another invite will come when i am not so busy catering for visitors.

Visitors today but my New Year poem arrived in my mind during the night so here it is.
In 2016 let us hope_
The sheep are brought down from the hills
And trees are planted instead;
Our streams bring power to our mills
And we produce all our own linen thread.;
Our fields full of flax will fulfil
Our dream of a linen dressed bed.
In 2016 let us hope -
Our fruit and veg. are home-grown
To ensure our health remains good;
Candle-lit dinners will be shown
To provide that romantic mood;
Let us wear fine wool or a linen gown
And eat at tables made of wood;
All grown right here in the British Isles
Where a sunny "Good Day" can spark off smiles.
Amazing, Marion. I'd never be able to do that. Well done and let's hope that least some of it comes true.
