     David its all in my spare room image im not wanting to run an extension cable from there to my green house .

    HaHa David cant have losing the will to live image ive switched it off , why do the packets tell u that u can put the seeds in a propogater???.

    I should have said, then put in your unheated greenhouse.

    Lid off during the day - on at night.

    thanks David it is a pleasure to talk 2 someone who knows what there talking about image i will post any fotos that i have of sweet peas that are growing on my fence next year on to your page .rest assured i have planted 60 odd seeds that are now sitting in my green house image i will let you know how i get on .

    I thought that I'd had all the germination that I was going to, but another one showed through today. That's five weeks since sowing I think! I wonder whether it will do. At least it's not going to get leggy this side of Christmas!

    Germination normally takes between 7 & 21 days, but (for me)  feel 7 days indicates too much warmth...21 days producing much better seedlings.

    7 days will not produce strong seedlings 2 much heat image 21 days will produce stronger healthier plants.

    David i have a slatted fence would it be better to grow the sweet peas on a net or spacing them out on garden wire .

  • Wills - Your supports will need to be 6 to 8 feet tall.

    Probably (if it's high enough) your slatted fence draped with some plastic pea netting would be the way to go.
