I purcased a Salix Flamingo last month, planted it and has grown at least 2/3 inches on the stems and is very pink in flower. I've read it needs to be trimmed back to encourage further stem growth. Is now the right time or do I need to allow it to settle in the new ground a bit longer?

    Hello Verdun,

    Thank you for your reply.

This is my first salix piece in my garden so just trying to learn as much as I can because I love the look of the shrub and want it to be successful.

I was just concerned that the branches have grown so fast in a the matter of a few weeks that they are arching over now.

I have attached a picture for you to confirm all is well.

    regards, Aaron
