Thank again to all of you. It's really gloomy out and pouring with rain, so that's not helping my mood, need it to brighten up a bit so that I can enjoy a potter in the garden.
Thanks SGL. My eyes are so sore from crying and I know he is just a dog, but we are so attached. I get very lonely sometimes, early days for such a big move, friends are few and far between and although I can speak enough French to get by sharing thoughts and feelings is a bit away from me yet. The dog has no language barrier and seemed to understand my every mood. The joy of watching him enjoy a walk or a swim too was exhilarating in it's simplicity. I will miss him so much and just hope we can find him a happy family.
For Verdun's news too though I feel the pain, such a senseless loss of life, in someone so young, how does a parent ever move on from that?
I shouldn't say it, but sometimes you do think some 'higher being' is just trying to push you to see how far he can go.
Good night all and I hope tomorrow brings better things for us all.

My cat was put to sleep today. I am heart-broken and can't stop crying. I live on my own and he was my family. Hugs to anyone else going through difficult times.

In my job I see people at their most vulnerable, there is no such thing as 'just a pet', it is YOUR pet and part of your family.
What I can promise is that things do get better with time.
