Matty, I have been thinking of you all the way on this, it just brought it all back with our Sharon, so very similar and she is absolutely fine, just as if it never happened. I really am pleased for you.

SGL,  how sad for your friend, still in pain with the shingles, I never realised it went on for so long.

The stoma may go back on its own, mums was quite pronounced when she first had it done, but of course she must be advised by the doctor, have they completely ruled out putting it back?

I remember when they offered to put mums back, she said no because as she was already 75  she said 'I'  may be glad of it left if the time came that I needed to care for her, at least you know where it isimage

Verdun, well done for insisting on the doc coming to see your mum, I hope the patch works.

Good news hopefully with my mum but I will write again about that.

Hugs to Lillypilly and all who need them.

  • Lyn, not sure what you mean by 'putting it back'. Do you mean a complete reversal? Unfortunately she can't have that done and has had an operation to take that all away. Some months before that op,  something happened and some of the bowel and stoma came through......sorry terrible and graphic description. She had an op then to put that right, not sure but I think she feels it still sticks out a lot.

I haven't told my friend, but have heard that the shingles pain can last a very long time. Has eased slightly but still very painful.

Thinking of you all love and hugs x

Even though you had been expecting it to happen Verdun it must have been terrible to get the news.  As you say your Mum can't suffer any more.  My thoughts are with you.
