Which climbers for privacy

  • I have two tangutica and they certainly grow fast and furious every year.  Yesterday I visited a garden where the people wanted privacy from nosy neightbours and they had planted an akebia, which I had never heard of before.  I was so impressed I bought one today from Wyeval (garden centre group) for £8.50 which was reduced by 50% and it's a good 3 foot tall.  Don't know if they have their garden centres where you live, I'm on the south east coast, but they have a massive sale on and some plants are reduced by 70%

Just been having a look at your pics, youve brought really nice plants, you really have come a long way since yesterday! image
  • I plan on the front of the garden having some sort of archway with 8 ft shrubs/trees running parallel about 16 ft towards the back. I then want some sort of raised circular centrepiece (maybe a fountain over time). Id like the garden to break to the left and right from there to take you to where my trellises are.

Probably hard to imagine and i know it will take time but why not eh!

Id also like a little sheltered spot to the left with maybe a swinging chair or hammock but would need to be surrounded in say chicken wire and different types of climbers could all hide the improvised wire fence .

Lol I'll probably have another idea soon and change it but who knows

He he he, you will be like us very soon, getting all excited when a new plant catalogue comes through the door! image

It sounds to me like you have a good idea of what you want, and if you change your mind, so what, it just means more time in the garden! image
