I've never given them much thought really....cept to know they're not for me personally. As it happens my son & daughter don't seem to have the inclination either.....although I have to admit, I did dread my son turning up with a safety-pin through his nose in the punk era. My grandson (21) and granddaughter (18) also remain untatted.
Given the permanency of the things I do wonder why youngsters would have the names of their girlfriend/boyfriend etched on their necks at a very early stage in their relationship.
I am of the firm belief that people get tattoos for nobody's benefit other than for themselves. and not for the attention from others. There may be people out there who get them to impress their mates and whatnot, but most people don't, most folks put a lot of thought - and money into them!
I know there's plenty more things I want to get in the future, but for now I can't afford the work I want, and don't intend to pay someone half as much for work that's half as good.
I've done peircings - and obnoxious hair colours for that matter - none have stayed or have made me as happy as my tattoos. I respect those who know it isn't for them though.
My darling hubby has lots of tattoo's, his latest one was done yesterday....i won't put pics on but he has an indian squaw and a wolf on his back, wolf and horses on his legs, arms covered from years ago at the fairground and my name in hebrew on his chest, plus he plans more......i also have one small one....a result of hitting 40! Several years ago i might add ?

Different strokes for different folks, Sweetpea.
Would be a dull old world if everybody was the same.
As i said its their body so its entirely up to that person.
Sweetpea, where has your lovely avatar picture gone?
Not sure, but think sweetpea had this one before the pic of herself

What would you think about young woman with cherry blossoms on her neck? http://flowertattooideas.com/top-30-awesome-small-cherry-blossom-tattoos/ I saw one. Looks pretty though I don't really understand why people hurt themselves just because of some picture on their bodies..?
