Before central heating we had blankets and eiderdowns and got dressed inside the bed!

P-Pam, these days if a child got a bottom full of splinters the parents would be deciding who to sue for compensation. I've long thought that most children now aren't allowed to be adventurous enough and that is why some of them create their own excitement by indulging in anti-social behaviour.

I think the Cambridges should sue the merde out of that French magazine ;- )

  • She was in a private house set in large grounds, photographer was obviously determined to snap her. She wasn't in public and he shouldn't have done it and should be sued. If she was on a beach it would be a different matter. Doesn't make any difference if it is a woman or man being filmed. Harry's situation is different, he needs to be more careful who he invites to parties.

Only just got back, visited the GC! Bought some loppers and a saw, a nice big rosemary and a lovely scented clematis armandii. The leaves are leathery so hoping that the snails won't eat them.

Geoff, we ran from the fireside in one room to another one as fast as possible and wore extra jumpers.
  • Making a mountain out of molehills, not interested is my reaction although people should be allowed to do what they wish on private land.
A lady lived behind me, her garden backing on to mine would strip all off and sunbathe, I put up a taller fence.

Years back making a buggy from old pram parts for the Grandchildren it proved a real winner. They had posh bikes but that old buggy was in use for a long time, the wooden barrow I made for them is still being played with by the latest batch of grand children. You do not need spend the earth.

    Frank.

I am tired of moaning but I have just been outside and  in the corner of my garden next to the new building, all the plants are covered with a spray of cement, it is the end of the season and no permanent damage has been done but that is more luck than consideration. Why are people so thoughtless with plants, if it was a car someone would be going mad.

Because some people don't get it-I have seen plants sprayed with fence paint by inconsiderate neighboursimage

This is my question, why don't they get it?

Kate, I had a quick shufti at the Beeb website. Found Puff Fancies with Chocolate sauce. Under 30 mins prep. Under 10 mins to cook. Not sure if you'd have all the ingredients in your store-cupboard, though. Might be worth a look, I'd improvise the chocolate sauce with butter, cocoa, milk and honey or sugar (or both).
