I know from your lovely border how much thought you put in the planting and pleased you like the long border at Picton.
It was interesting to see how the taller michaelmas daisies were used as a 'hedge' backdrop. They bushed out at the top from very narrow stems which gave space for under planting. Grasses were used well too.
Just back from 24 hours away in beautiful South Galloway. Visited Logan Botanical Gardens near Stranraer and Dunskey at Portpatrick. both definitely worth a trip. The guided tour at Dunskey given by a hugely knowledgable lady.
As always lovely lunch too!

Beaus mum how kind of you to remember! The hong Kongers arrive next Thursday. This was 24 hours away to recharge battery! realised after I posted the gardens were more in Dumfries/Galloway than New Galloway

I visited Brantwood former home of John Ruskin earlier in the week. Stunning views of Coniston water and The Old Man of Coniston. If you like history there was alot of information in the house about John Ruskin and a short video telling of his life.
The garden is on a steep hill around the house. 'Brant' meaning steep, the garden is mainly informal and at this time of year, more wild than anything else although there are planted borders on the walk to and from the little harbour.
Haven't managed to load up any pictures yet but if you google 'View from the bottom of the garden, picture of Brantwood it takes you to a site which has pictures of the house, garden and views.
