What a lovely spot that garden is in, ighten. Some lovely gardens here, have been to the Helmsley walled garden and the Sussex Prairie Gardens.

When on holiday by Lake Garda last week we visited Sigurta Park which is huge and really more of a park than a garden. Loads of Busy Lizzies!

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Free admission, but I did spend quite a bit in the nursery afterwards.

Busy-Lizzie, such space and colour, and that pond - love the way the waterlilies are spreading. Every garden needs a Busy Lizzie image

Fidget  image  those borders look good and the grasses give a stately look to garden. I spy V.bon and  asters - love those colours with the grasses.

A brilliant use for an old tyre, drill holes in the base and attach netting with electrical tyes

A tree that had to be chopped down - they asked the guy to make the top concave so that compost could be put there and then planted.

Some of the oaks have been dated back to 1671

The Arboretum is a truly magical place. Parts of it are wheelchair friendly. Mike Hume, one of the volunteers there very kindly showed me around for hours, with a wealth of knowledge and stories, it was a great experience.image

The reason I went was to find out more about a dog poo wormery that they have. I will do some more research and start a new thread for that.image

Thank you for sharing these beautiful photographs artjak image

There is something about seeing sunlight filtering through trees that catches ones breath. As you say, magical.

That tree trunk ? hmm, seen one before somewhere - it will come when I'm not thinking about it  image
