We went to a garden called Hergest Croft which had some interesting and rare trees. The rhodies and azaleas were over. There was a big kitchen garden, but it was a bit strange as, instead of putting the herbaceous borders and rose garden near the house they were some way away in the kitchen garden.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Thanks, Chicky. Drat the rain!
Hever is quite pricey, but you see the castle as well and it's a big place. We got half price with the 2 for 1 GW ticket.
When we were in Shrewsbury we saw the garden that Percy Thrower created in the public park.
Good to see all the gardens.
Percy was my first gardening guru......
