I think you are right fidget, I think i only started getting success when I collected my own seed. I wonder why?

I've decided it isn't anything I do wrong. Reason I don't have any success is lack of altitude, they come from the Himalayas and I'm only 100 metres above sea level. image Might try them on top shelf of staging..lol.

I'll be buying another this year and will give it conditions that have been described.

This year I am growing Trilliums for the first time, I bought small pieces of root at Harrogate autumn show. Thet have started to appear, so I am hopeful. I am growing them in the same area as the Meconopsis.

One of the favourite parts of my garden at the moment is watching my tulips slowly open, I think they are beautiful even before they open, when you can just see the colour Coming through.

It's the first time I've ever grown tulips and they are the free ones from GW, really pleased with them image

My tulips are a good 2 weeks earlier than last year. My weeding is behind image Looked at photos.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

It definitely feels warmer here Lizzie and we have hardly had any frost this winter, apart from maybe a couple of days and I've heard we are in for a good summer too image

What beautiful colour tulips Tracey. My tulips didn't come up this year, because of the rain. I think they 'drowned' image will have to get some new bulbs later on this year.

That's a shame Lily, hopefully they will have them free in GW again because if they do I would definitely recommend them image You can share mine for now. image
