Interesting piece of news about the moon's name, @Obelixx . Found out more names for the full moon here: https://www.businessinsider.fr/us/what-is-beaver-moon-name-meaning-2017-11
You are invited to a virtual visit of my garden (in English or in French).

I have heard of Frost Moon but Beaver is a new one. Figures on blockages etc on National French news yesterday lunchtime (I thought 200 excessive). Note some garages running out of petrol now.(See wbsite Essence & Co) Sorry to disagree Papi Jo but we ere in Saint Brieuc Monday and it was very bad everywhere -Glad to get out of Brittany and into gentler Manche. Looking forward to Xmas Market tomorrow -Dog not pleased he dresses up in his costume every year and has photos taken with Father Xmas! GWRS -Left dahlias in last year and despite covering with bracken, lost them all to the wet not cold as we have clay soil at this house.Greenhouse nice and cosy with bubble wrap 12C outside 9C. Only 2 ducks on pond today -Hunters here last w/e according to my neighbour. There were 7 last week (ducks). Have a good w/e and hope the Dance Class was worth the hassle Obelixx.
    Happy Gardening.

    Hi everyone!
Did you see the Moon on Saturday night? Staggeringly beautiful blood orange and gigantic in early evening sky. There aren't many times that you see a Moon like this and we were so so lucky on the way back from Xmas Market. Unfortunately a bad turn out due to road blocks but Sunday better and Mulled Wine went down well! Picked Winter Salad today and much warmer again yet wet wet wet! Was going to do some weeding, but ended up just moving Christmas Roses and Violas to back of house so that we can see and enjoy them.
Cats still on Strike!! -Now taking to mashing up furniture and each other as bored!!
Watch out for end of month report tomorrow, plus December weather guide. (Not sure I want to know!
    Happy Gardening.

Bio , did a bit of gardening today and basically finished for this year
Need to prune trees on stream bank over winter
As always lots of jobs to do at allotment
News papers are predicting a bad winter but ? Looking forward to your weather guide
The problems in Paris protests made the news , however , as ever the News is Brexit Brexit and more Brexit
This Sunday there is a Christmas Market in Village , local High st closed , all depends on weather how successful it will be , we are usually away so it will be nice to see it again
    Looking foreword to it 🎄

Hesitate to mention December Weather!! -Hope it won't come true! Suffice to say 1-5th calm but possible snow on high ground and more rain! - 7-12th Very unstable and wintery 15-25th Seasonal with beautiful sunny days. From 26th temperatures falling until end of year. After that no idea as have not got 2019 weather guide yet!! BioD Meeting full of interesting titbits re judging weather patterns -Unfortunately many of them really off the wall and not worthy of mention here, as I think that we are all a little more 'grounded'
Lunar Calender for 29/30th November - Fruit Days Brush lichen off fruit trees. Prune Apples and Pears. Make holes with fork around roots and scatter compost or BioD Grains that will work their way into roots via holes to nourish trees in Winter. If not frozen (The ground not you!) Plant bare root new trees in the holes that you already made earlier in the month.
Must close and put head back in oven -Making Gingerbread for Xmas Market this w/e -Enjoy yours GWRS. Just getting into the swing of Xmas. Lights going up in al towns and will be turned on 6th December. (Jour de Saint Nicolas) -Happy Gardening.

Hello , hope you are not to effected by road blocks ? And you are getting to the various local markets ok 🍻
managed to get to allotment yesterday and put in Broad beans under a clouch and dig the final bed , it was an old strawberry 🍓 bed that we had cleared of the strawberries , obviously still a few in it but couldn’t believe the amount of bind weed I dug up was going to cover it on manure but decided to dig it again

Weather is quiet mild at moment 10 to 13 degrees yesterday , we seem to get one rainy day then one that’s ok
Just put up Christmas tree 🎄with flashing lights  and a few decorations around house

Currently about to have a walk around Lincoln Christmas Market

IMHO, the person who thought up flashing Xmas lights wants shooting.

Quite warmr but exceedingly wet and windy here so hibernating sort of day tho I really do need to go and check everything in the polytunnel has had a drink and isn't wilting.   Been busy all week doing patchwork homework - Xmas table top  so double deadline - and haven't been in the garden at all.   Lots still do to do then.

I agree with you Obelixx we should be hibernating, but Xmas Markets beckon despite storm/tempest and gilets jaunes!! Pushkin is in disgrace, bought home cute black & white kitten this afternoon with broken tail and strange looking hind quarters (think it may have been slammed in door as opposed to hit by car. Perky little thing -In good condition so someone has lost it. I belong to local rescue association so wheels in motion. I cannot keep another one!!! Anyway here is Lunar Calender for 6-17th december as off to UK next week to buy extra Xmas Stock.
7th dec. - New Moon 7.20am in Scorpio so Leaf Day. Collect Mistletoe and if you cut it out of bark seal wound with Gum Band.

8/9/10th dec - Moon ascending from 9th in Sagittarius so Fruit Days - On a rising Moon seperate grafts from fruit trees and pop them in the ground along a north facing wall to plant out in Spring. No gardening on the 10th after 12.50pm as Noeud descending.

11/12th dec - Moon ascending in Capricorn -Root Days. Now is the time to study your cropping results for 2018, and make plans and changes for 2019. Lift and store remaining root veg like carrots that cannot take a hard frost. On 12th No gardening as Moon apogee.

13/14/15 Dec - Flower Days Moon ascending in Aquarius. Sow begonia semperflorens and pelargoniums in trays at 20-22c Now that's nt Do not cover the begonia seed but let the light do the work for you. Waterspray sparingly without soaking as dampness in air at this time of year sufficient.

16/17/18th dec - Leaf Days Moon in Pisces. Harvest salads/brussel sprouts and spinach. Sow salad cress indoors for Winter snacks and sandwiches. Try germinating chick peas/lentils/Soya/Rocket and Leeks to eat as sprouts. This is a good way to use up opened out of date seed, and will prove to be really nutricious during the darker days.

Our Xmas lights went on yesterday 6th -Sorry Obelixx lovely sparkly ones outside! I don't like flashing ones on tree though -Send my eyes weird!! White pearly ones are fine although I love shop decorations. Poor old Paris -No Eiffel Tower/No Louvre/No Champs Elysee open - Met some UK tourists at Market yesterday -NOT told by ferry company of problems here - Now that's not right. Holiday ruined. Not sure if parisians will come to 2nd homes next week, busy protecting their own in the metropolis.

Must go and make pretty parcels of gingerbread and check on wailing kitten!!

    Happy Gardening!
