London sounds a nightmare -shows how out of touch we are, people are talking about using an 'oyster card' on the metro?? Apparently there are no ticket offices nowadays, all automated. Now being dragged along loudly protesting by O/H , would prefer to stay here gardening!! -Still I shall be brave. Also hate crowds. -Will report!
    Happy Gardening!

Bio , last time we where in London and had to use the Tube we used a Contactless card to pay , instead of an Oyster card , however you must remember to use it at the journeys end other wise you would be charged for the full journey and not the one you have taken , hope that helps and makes sense
It worked really well , best of luck

Hi Everyone -No Farmers Market this am due to whole country in shutdown with roads blocked by cars and lorries in all out protest against petrol prices. Are you joining in Obelixx or like me staying at home?? -No sign of this on UK news, pre-occupied with dreaded Bxt perhaps.
Anyway, Sunday 11th was fantastic, roads clear and underground extra easy with contactless card so thanks for that info GWRS. Beautifully organised with no crowds, we wore special bracelets allocating us to columns for marching, and we had free coffee/teas and cake laid on, plus seating available, as we had to wait 3hrs before our turn! Did get a good view on big screens plus Horseguards came down the Mall beside us which was wonderful -Surprised to see so many girl 'horseguards'. - The sun shone all day which was uncanny in itself, as I can't remember one Remembrance Day where it hasn't rained or been murky all day. We were so lucky and it was very emotive. How was the Service in Westminster Abbey GWRS? - Late afternoon looked up and saw lovely sliver of silvery New Moon, just topped the day nicely. -Off to Rennes 4am tomorrow for Xmas Twinning Fair (Rennes x Exeter) as cannot get there today due to blockages and it opens at 7am tomorrow -Oh Joy! So, giving you Lunar Calender 18-26th Nov today.
18/19/20/21st Nov -Gosh that's a long time for Leaf Days! Moon Ascending in Pisces.Harvest Brussel Sprouts Spinach and Salad Crops. Fleece up the tenderer crops. Start off Bean Sprouts and other sprouting seeds for the first Winter Salads.
22nd Nov - Fruit Day Moon Ascending in Aries - Pop in some Peas and Mangetouts some  if you are in a mild region or perhaps in the greenhouse, remembering that this early sowing will have to stay there to get an early crop.
23/24/25th Nov - Full Moon 5.39am UK time (Ah just a quickie -France is going to stay on Summer time all year as from next year -So we shall be 2 hours ahead of you!)Root Days - Sow Carrots and Radishes undercover -I'm going to give this a go for the 1st time in the greenhouse. Thin out immediately they sprout allowing 5cm between plants.
26th Nov - Moon Descending in Cancer so Flower Day - No gardening after 7.05am as Moon perigee (Allow 5hrs to pass before carrying out any jobs like earthing up Artichokes and planting out Bare rooted Roses and Shrubs -Might as well forget today I think!!! Dark both ends!
So there we are November nearly over. Still very mild here though, eating lots of salad crops and even some baby carrots that I do not want to overwinter in the raised bed.
Flowers still doing well and roses still coming out.
    Happy Gardening!

Staying home today BF but not cos of the protests.  We just prefer not to get caught in Saturday traffic and SM queues and the like and we have dancing later this evening.   Hope any protesters have gone home for dinner by then.

I have some brassicas to plant out tomorrow if I have time or else it'll have to wait till Wednesday.  Lots ofpatchwork homework to do for Monday's meeting and planning a day out on Tuesday if it's sunny enough for photos.  Still have bulbs to plant an assorted shrubs desperate to be planted in teh ground but need more rain to soften the soil first.

Glad that London was OK.  I watched the various ceremonies on TV most of the day exept for a short excursion to the garden club picnic lunch and plant swap.  I took fancy ints and chives and a mulberry for the lady who's growing flowers and foliage for top end chefs and she wasn't there!  Gave them to others.   Came home with a new rose - Ghislaine de Féligonde - and one or two other bits and pieces.

OH has cleared away my globe artichokes!!!!  His winter jobs will now include making me dedicated raised beds for new artichokes and asparagus and one I can use for strawberries for a couple of years..........   There's a fruit cage to build too.

French road blocks have made Obxx bloody angry!  Drunken pillocks removing my liberty?  I don't think so.   Managed to get past without running anyone over but had to abandon dancing plans and go home a very long way round.

Took us 5hrs to get back from a normally 2hr trip to Rennes. Brittany in very violent mood. I am wondering why I have seen nothing in British Press/Radio or TV -Perhaps the it has been vetoed by government so that Brits don't get the same idea to have manifestations re Brexit! - Manche (Our department) is in meltdown, bigger plans for this w/e apparently. Luckily we have a van and commercial permit, so movement not prohibited as much, put emergency yellow waistcoat in window 'gilet jaune' so not to attract mounting violence. 7,101 protests yesterday and over 200 deaths by being hit by vehicules apparently. -On the Thread note -I came home from rennes having bought a huge piece of heavy duty bubble wrap and lined greenhouse inside so now no leaks and no holes Hurray! -First hard frost this morning, Dug up 1st Dahlia yesterday and popped into new singing dancing homemade -patched up greenhouse! Looks as though I shall have to take my potted dahlias indoors today. Will also fleece up salads.
Chin up Obelixx -It can only get worse knowing our beloved France!!! November is the traditional period for Strikes and bonfires in the roads, but this is the 1st time that the public have set up something, and they are pretty well organised.  Look out UK -This could (and possibly should be you!) -Xmas Markets start this w/e -Don't know if we shall see anyone. Farmers Market cancelled this morning -we can't get there! Cats on strike too! -Too cold to go out hunting!!

There has been some coverage of the BBC News channel but, frankly, they are mostly concerned with Brexit and all its ramifications with very little esle being reported thos there was a shrt item about roadblocks on London bridges with climate change protesters stopping traffic.

Xmas market here on Sunday in Moutiers with some local producers selling food products and beers and wine and a village fête on Saturday in Champ-St-Père with a best decorated tart competition.  We'll go to both.

Dance class this evening and I'm planning a rural route as we would otherwise pass 2 of the main blockages in La Roche.  Apparently they're planning to occupy the Place de la Concorde in Paris on Saturday.  That'll be fun for all concerned.
