Not done anything yet with the pallets - wanting more was trying to make a fence along the front of the allotment plot with same style pallets, trying to find more but difficult to do not any about  - really want to make a pallet shed for the plot

Have brought a tool to take them apart easy from eBay a roughneck lifting bar for dismantling pallets  - did take one apart with the tool that is it so far

do want to make eventually another coldframe for allotment plot like the one I did for home

cauliflowers are supposed to be hard to grow they usually all have looked like yours , but this year managed to grow 3 that looked like cauliflowers

just bought a crow bar £3 To help in taking pallets a part , could you put a picture on of your pallet tool , interested in seeing what this tool looks like ?

put a full day in yesterday at allottment, lots of little jobs done

also bfought home shallots that have been drying in cold frame for o/h to pickle image

GWRS here is a pic of the tool

    http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDgwWDY0MA==/z/iSgAAOSwQItULv0E/$_1.JPG

From eBay Roughneck Heavy Duty Demolition & Lifting Bar  from a seller called   my-tool-shed   cost just over £20  it is about 94 cms high

Where did you get your crow bar?  bargain price

The cape gooseberries are still growing the ones in garden are about a metre high the little flowers look pretty and they have turned into lanterns and plants still flowering the leaves are nice and soft

I sowed them indoors about Feb in a tray they took a while to germinate, potted them on to 9cm pots and did not plant out till after hardening them off middle to end of May   done really well like the plants hope I like the fruit

Found seeds at Wyevale in sale bit from Eden of lentil that would prob take you a lot of plants to get good amount off but different to grow

Nice to have a trip to the seaside and great to find a bargain

Not posted for a while, just catching up on everyone's postings.

Like the little pond, I have two frogs on the plot, one is currently  living under black plastic sheeting.

I've been trying to get some winter onions, shallots and garlic to plant out in September/October. Not found any at a reasonable price though.

Went to Southport Flower Show on Friday. Checked out the competion vegs. The giant veg section was truely inspiring and way out of my league but some of the other classes looked achievable for next yr...I grow enough toms to find six the same sizeimage and currants to find enough bunches which are uniform in sizeimage

Spent most of the afternoon at the plot on Sunday. Got lots done and took home a huge bounty of veg and flowers. Freezer is now full so I'm venturing onto making jams, chutney's, relishes, cordials, drying and storing fresh...anything which does not need to be frozen.

Had bulb fennel for the first time with Sunday Roast.

Gardengirl, I showed your tool to Hubby because I've not seen one like it. He said they have one like it in their fire brigade tools but it has a spike at end of handle as well. It's called a "hooligan bar" here.  It sounds dangerous .  Good luck with finding more pallets. We see them everywhere, and they seem to be left to rot. Seems such a waste.  However, on the practical side, most people go for treated wood because we have a major termite problem around here, so it would be a waste of effort to construct something like you do.  image
