GWRS Will be a while for shed yet lots to do before hand and permission to put in for, glad you like the video,  yep lots of grass and only the long armed sheers to cut down with so glade the cardboard is helping keep the grass and weeds down

did they have the sweet peas mix in the runners or to one end?

Shame the rats eaten the sweetcorn

I have peas and beans coming up in the raised bed in the garden, they are a little bit high now

Went and got more fence pallets Friday took them to the allotment plot now have lots of piles of pallets still a few more to collect, also took a few more pallets from home to plot for shed porch - allowed one of them

Going to be sowing my broad beans for allotment plot in trays at home early next week on fruit days (gardening by the moon) and on flower days going to sow my sweet peas - have so many pink packs left going to sow them in root trainers to go into cold frame

GWRS use your celery to make celery and potato soup yummy  - was the celery nice in your salad

been to the allotment on Friday and today to tidy up and I've pulled the runner beans down but left the roots in and now weeding and enlarging the beds. I've been given broad bean seeds and onions, planted the onions today.

plan is to get some weed control fabric, have asked on freecycle and also paving slabs. I also plan to change the shed into a playhouse so that the little one has somewhere to play with his toys.

Can't wait to see your shed GardeGirl!

Gardengirl , celery & potatoe soup sounds like a good idea , celery has a definite flavour as opposed to the watery stuff you get in supermarketsimage

Spent morning at allottment , sorted out asparagus bed ,  already cut down the stems , weeded , compost around the cut stems and rotted compost around edges

also emptied watering cans , one unfortunately had a dead mouse in it

next job need to tidy up sprout bed

Have grown squashes in past at the side of asparagus bed but any ideas for another item to grow ?image

Hello, when you leave the roots in from runner beans, will they eventually rot down by next spring please?

also, I planted broad beans today too. When they sprout up do I need to cover them with a cloche or will they be fine without anything over them?

    thanks muchly!

Tootles , runner bean roots should have rotten down by next spring , however , always give them a little help before hand with spade

hopefully I will put broad beans in at the weekend but will put cloche on now , if we have a dry winter you can always water them

    best of luckimage
